The Maier Museum of Art
at Randolph College

Many people take great comfort in the idea that mental health issues do not affect them and their daily lives. During my time at Randolph, the academic stress of collegiate life shattered the previous statement to bits. Because of this, I wanted to share my experiences through art.
My subject matter is mental health coming to life through oils and watercolors. Painting has been a part of my life since the womb and so have my mental health struggles although I was unaware of them at the time. I wanted my work to show the real effect anxiety and depression have on me personally and maybe someone who views these works can relate. I used experiences from life to inspire these paintings. Also included are many commissioned works and fantasy art that was just plain fun to do.

I’m from Lynchburg VA, and currently working on commissioned pieces while working full time at the hospital. When I’m not doing art I’m usually reading or binge watching TV. My two cats, Oscar and Hiro, make painting all the more fun by running off with my paint brushes and hiding them.
