The lecture, titled Monacan Millennium: Archaeology of Mounds, Ancestral Territory and Survivance in Virginia, A.D. 1000 – 2022, will be delivered by Jeffrey Hantman, emeritus professor of Anthropology at UVA and author of The Monacan Millenium (2012). This program is sponsored by Randolph College, the Maier Museum of Art, and the Lynchburg Society of the Archaeological Institute of America (AIA Lynchburg).
